Do Organisations really understand the importance of Key Account Management, or is it still a business fad to attract customers?

One must do the self assessment of the job role before accepting it to avoid getting into such situation.
I am sure that any genuine business house will understand the importance of key account management if it sees the quantum of contribution coming into it's kitty.
