QUALITY TIME: it's reference to time spent with close family or relatives or friends that is in some way important;  it is a time that set aside and/or undivided attention to the person or a matter at hand.

QUANTITY TIME: it is a person or a thing whose characteristics and abilities etc. cannot be predicted.  And also means by balancing of chances in to a victory.

There is a difference between quality time and quantity time. Quality time is far more involved than we think, it could take some time to think and plan. Many times when one person says they want quality time, all they are getting is quantity time. There is a way to tell whether or not your time together is quantity or quality.

Let me illustrate my point. Let's suppose you've looked forward all day to eating at one of the finest restaurants in town. The waiter brings you a menu, and you order the most expensive steak in the house. But when the meal arrives, you see a tiny piece of meat about one-inch square in the center of the plate. When you complain about the size of the steak, the waiter says, "Sir, I recognize that the portion is small, but that's the finest corn-fed beef money can buy. You'll never find a better bite of meat than we've served you tonight. As to the portion, I hope you understand that it's not the quantity that matters, it's the quality that counts."

You would object, and for good reason. Why? Because both quality and quantity are important in many areas of our lives, including how we relate to children. They need our time and the best we have to give them. My concern is that the quantity-versus-quality argument might be a poorly disguised rationalization for giving our children--neither

If you think about this in terms of productivity, you will know that just because you spend five hours in work, does not mean that you accomplished anything. I have massive amounts of work to complete for my schooling. There is a difference when I spend a few hours just completing problems or copying down information onto notecards with a few distractions versus studying intuitively for a few solid hours.
