If you are mobile developer, go to jave to develop Android apps, otherwise, I recomend C#

My advice is: start learning Java. The reason I’m saying this is that Java has a different paradigm. C++ and C# programming languages target machines that run windows operating system. Meanwhile Java targets almost every operating system. Saying that, you have better chance to find a job as a Java developer than a C++ or C# developer. On top of it, the Android operating system uses the Java programming language to create Android applications.

C# would be really easy for you to catch up. Although C# is a pure OOP language (where C++ is not) it is still easier to you to learn C# than Java.

As you said, You have an understanding of C/C++, then i would recommend you to learn C# rather than Java. Bcz C# syntax is more similar with C/C++ than Java.

Also, It depends upon your interest as well. If you want to learn Android application developemnet in future, Then you should learn Java bcz Java knowledge is essential for Android development.

i think to start with C# Quickly and be familiar with it , then if you like to start java [it will be easy to learn if get some experience from c# Coding ]

C# syntax is Very close actually to C++ , so you can pick it up easily if you have experience with c++
