I think it's more than having two separate mobile numbers.
It's about your priorities and discipline.
When you're at work, try not to let your personal life interfere.
When you're not at work, don't do anything related to work.
Set strict times/schedule.
Of course, there would be times when the schedule needs to be broken, but that should be the exception rather than the norm.
Do your best at work, then leave work at the office.
Work will always need more of your time, and it will also be there when you get back.
Learn to say no.
And if by saying yes to someone, make sure you're not saying no to yourself.
Nobody ever uttered in their dying bed: "I wish I had spent more time at the office."

The so called Work and Personal Life is full of activities.
One would prefer to pick up those activities which one likes and enjoys doing it.
This would for sure make the work and personal life enjoyable without worrying much to draw a boundary between them.
It has to be prioritised and carried out within the time frame available.
Cheers!

- Switch off your work phone always once you get out from your work - Try not to think about home, wife, children when you are working..
- week ends and holidays are for yourself, family, home and friends ...
donn't think about any work issues during these times..
- don't make family issues affect your work activity , timings & productivity - As much as you work hard ( during working hours only ) as much as you will be appreciated from your employer and that's good for your personal life Simply @ work : forget everything except work & @ home : forget work and its issues

By focusing on what is at hand at the time and by loving both to the degree that when you are with one of them you forget the other.

I personally prefer to have a flexible approach.
When I am at office, I find times to call my wife and kids and enjoy our little conversations.
This releases some work related pressures.
At the same time, I do not switch off my cell after work and do attend my customers phones.
It gives me a head start in solving their urgent issues because sometimes it is a matter of providing some info they require to make an important decision and instead of waiting for the next day, they get their info in real time.
They sure appreciate it and trust me with the reliability and dependability I offer them.
I do, however, think that it's a matter of one's personality and one's need to find what suits him/her best.
Some may find it disturbing to continue to be available after work and some may thrive with always at hand.
At the end of the day, It's a matter of how you adjust your life style to get the best out of both and be happy and productive in your life.

working extra hours and not having a social life would rather be called working hard but not clever. he who knows how to improvise the allocated time and work hard and smart can enjoy working atmosphere and social life. when at work it should be only work but when you leave the office its times for you to relax. because a person who does not enjoy best of both will not be productive or motivated in his job! :)

While working, do so sincerely with all your heart to the best of your ability.  Then, switch off your equipments, lock your work stress in your drawers and go out of the office with a free mind.

When you reach home, enjoy the moments with your family, as you may get only about 1 to2 hrs. in a day (if you are lucky) with them.  Do this also sincerely and do not encourage any official calls and work on your laptop at this time.

Do not worry about office matters at this time, since you have to go for work the next day anyway.  So, sort and solve any issues of the office over there.

This is only possible, if you take charge of your life, as it is in your hands.

it is self discipline and integrity to be a worker...no matter what is the problem of your personal life you still do your best to your company .

Work to live not Live to work.
Working to live brings clarity for what is essential to achieve in personal lives.
Irreplaceable people and precious moments.
Living to work is an endless grind of work, work and more work, It never ends.
Dispensable and temporary.

As my friends shared their views, workers should have separate time for their personal life.
Its a healthy key to be a productive employee.
Even the VIPs they need to manage their time by somehow to get room of relaxation so that they could have better tactical and strategical thinking .
Families and friends are part of our life and we must reserve time to spend with them in order to support each other. This land has been created to enjoy living in, love and help each other,no one can keep working without saving those three vitamins to keep going.
Whenever a worker is exhausted,he definitely needs a big breath with a break to spend sometime rejuvenating his power again .
Regarding your question how to do it, the answer would be : you have first to believe on what written above and how the personal time is important and Essential.
Every person would have his way to reserve such time .
Such desire is different from person to another and you can not put steps to do it but you can share your experience with other which may and may not fit their situations.
