How you communicate hard environment for job candidate without effecting your company branding ?

u work in very harsh environment and you are care about making new employees or joiners have smooth start up and not chocked with this environment

I agree with Shahzad point of view and thanks to him to put it in this nice flow.

I believe you should be careful about the communication with the new joiner as u might deliver negative message that will affect the team work. Also, try to focus more on analyzing the reasons of this environment and solving it than how to deal with this situation. This will help u better.

Dear Mr. Mostafa, first of all thanks for asking my opinion for your query as you have asked about one of core issue in attracting and retaining talent in case of hard environment or rather than hard environment I used the term “well-disciplined environment” or “close environment”. We need to realize first that what dopes hard environment mean? For me the hard environment is an organization where there is less-communication or regimented style of working or it could be workplace where the relation between seniors and sub-ordinates are not so cooperative or healthy.

Now landing in such organization and working in their HR could be a bit difficult but we need to attract the candidates and for this;

1-      Communicate the strength point of organization to new joiner or potential candidate.

2-      Do research a little about the organization there must be something you’ll find that why are they strict or regimented may be due to their tough compliance or working  pattern which they must follow to produce goods or services. Let present this to your customer(new joiners) as your success or working style.

3-      Do communicate your new employee to focus as much on their job rather than non-routine activities and in this way positive notice toward job could be generated.

4-      Do discuss this “hard environment term” with your boss/head of HR / top management so that such factors could be eliminated and it is easy for you to be as Employer of the Choice.

This is a good question, Mr. Mostafa. And I agree with Samar and Mr. Khan's point of view.

 

However I would like to approach this question with a different point of view:

 

Most Hr staff are blamed of giving new joinees / prospective employees a rosy and unreal picture about the organization before they join. Once the new employee joins, they feel disoriented.

 

Sometimes it is best to inform the new joinees that the Company has strict policies about disciple but it values Performance and Teamwork. Employees will relate to and appreciate this.
