A Pathologist leads, and a good leader has to lead from the front (i.e. set an example) for the other team members (including Medical Technologists) to follow. At the same time, he/she has to make efforts to develop harmony amongst all individuals in order to maintain discipline in the Laboratory; by giving them due respect. He/she should offer them opportunities for training/further education and enhancement of their skills. In other words, he/she should empower the Medical Technologists and only then expect them to deliver/prove their worth. He/she has to come at par with each individual in the laboratory and try to understand and discuss their problems.

On the other hand, the Medical Technologists should whole-heartedly accept the Pathologist to be the Head and offer their assistance in every respect of Laboratory matters.
