Do learners of English make particular mistakes in grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary depending on their mother tongue? (While linguists distinguish between an error, made by a student who doesn’t yet know the correct rule, and a mistake, made by a student who knows the rule but momentarily forgets it, I’ll use mistake to cover both cases.) It makes intuitive sense that some (particularly lower-level) mistakes are more likely to be made by speakers of certain languages. One well-known example is that speakers of Slavic languages, such as Polish, often miss out articles (*she bought new car) while speakers of Romance languages, such as Italian, occasionally drop in too many (I love the my sister!). These kinds of mistakes reflect the nature of the students’ mother tongues, and are arguably fairly minor, but other kinds – such as the greater tendency among speakers of certain Asian languages (like Khmer or Japanese) to mix up he and she – may lead to real communication difficulties. Linguistic quirks (rather than mistakes) also vary between cultures.

In my experience from teaching French , english learners  tend to overuse the word Il (he) for all genders as there are no gender in english

It depends what country they are from, as in each language there are things that may be a problem in mastering the Ebglish skills. I am Russian and teach Russians, so the main problems lay in the realm of Tenses, Modals, Phonetics and word choice

The usage of ‘big/fancy’ English words as well as slang/ social phrases of the English language in class and when answering questions. This is a problem as it creates confusion for the teacher thus gets a learner to be negatively marked because of the unclear language used. Attending extra English lessons will improve your learning and understanding of the English language.

For my opinion The most common types of error/ mistake for non native english its not about from where country they are or they belong for me the reason is they do not learn or they not know what exactly and how they will apply the following 1.) Subject Verb Agreement / 2.) Verb Configuration / 3.) Verb Tense / 4.) we need to know if the word if its verb or adverb this is a few common mistake as my opinion as a teacher i can help them to explain how they will implement the different kind of verb because that is basic in all if they understand of all the meaning of that it will surely they learn slowly and in the end they will be become better and avoid errors ðð

Non-native speakers of English make particular mistakes in writing and speaking while they do not face severe problems in listening. They are not good at grammar, pronunciation, sentence-making, and vocabulary.

This can be overcome by suggesting them to study grammar, articles in English and try to communicate with them in English.  Besides, I may also ask the students to make a list of the possible and common types of errors they already know, and direct them to share it in the classroom with their classmates so to avoid making them again

By providing them the basic and easiest way to learn English Grammer and to use it any proper way.

It depend upon on the country. Tune of one country isn't similar to another country . It will be difficult to understand the same word spoken by the people of two different country because of their tune. I will suggest them to learn the tune how they speak .if he/she understand the tune then it will be easy for them .
