If the problem is between staff:  Listen and be objective.   Usually miscommunication or power pulls.

If it releates to staffing problems, Step back and have a look at the overall operation and see what might be the root cause.  Get collaboration from other managers and come up with a plan to correct.

In general:

  • Make sure its something you can control; if you can't control a solution, you will waste your time;
  • Find out who or what is causing the problem;
  • Ask; when, where, why and how its happening;
  • Look for solutions; and
  • Derrive a plan and implement it - then you monitor the progress.

Good luck.  Kader -
