Once the detailed design drawings are approved, the same will be issued for construction purpose and these are called IFC drawings (‘Issued for Construction’ Drawings). IFC drawings are the mandatory drawings to execute any construction activity. Sometimes, they are called ‘Approved for Construction’ Drawings or ‘Released for Construction’ drawings).

Any changes during construction will be marked on the drawings, which are called redline marked-up drawings. Upon completion of construction activity, these changes will be updated on drawings. And those drawings are called As-built drawings. Often, as-built surveys are carried out to create/update As-built drawings.
