Computer Engineering is mostly hardcore hardware i.e. related to building of computer , designs and core internal wares. It is more of a physical aspect of computer building and designing.
While computer science is more are less related to abstract form like data processing, storing, writing software and many more function related to software aspect for the computer as a machine to funcition.
However both are specialised fields the computer is a product of both Computer Engeering and Computer Science without the each of the one it is useless.
Engineering is the study for design the software, hardware and system . Computer science is the study of how data and instruction are processed ,stored , communicated by computing device.
Computer Engineering is more ~70% focus on hardware and ~30% focus on software. Computer science is opposite of comuter engineering. Software engineering is 100% focus on software.

Technically there's alot of difference between the 2 courses. Here's my tough on this. If your going to a more programming and coding kind of work you should be taking up Computer Science. If you are a person who likes hardwares and softwares then you should be taking up Computer Engineering. It is too broad to explain these to but that's just my own perspective and since I'm a Computer Engineering, that's what I know based on experience
Bothe Computer engineering and Computer science are important, the difference is the computer engineering should be about the hardware wheres the computer science might be about the software and programing.

Well Coputer science means it is the way of describes the software and hardware the computer features and it a science that explain about tyechnologies.But Computer engineering deals with designing the hard ware and software components of the computers and fix and debug of the hardware and software of the computers.As the general Computer engineer the problem solvers of the electronicw device but not computer science, it simply deals with philosophy of technolgy.

Therefore, computer scientists are scientists and mathematicians who develop ways to process, interpret, store, communicate, and secure data.
Overlap Between the Areas
#Because both Computer Engineers and Computer Scientists ultimately work with data and attempt ultimately to harness meaning from it, there is significant overlap in coursework that students in the two fields take, as well as in the careers they pursue. This does not minimize the distinctive nature of the two disciplines. It simply acknowledges the fact that these types of computer professionals find context and purpose in similar kinds of projects or in different aspects of the same kinds of projects.
A Potentially Oversimplifying but Useful Distinction
Both Computer Engineers and Computer Scientists advance computing technology and solve problems using computing technology. If we consider computing technology in terms of scale, Computer Engineers operate often at the microscopic and macroscopic ends of the spectrum, whereas Computer Scientists work in the middle parts of the spectrum. More specifically, Computer Engineers deal with the physics of semiconductor electronics so that they may design hardware from the integrated circuit level (small), as well as with the integration of hardware and software optimized to run on it to realize complete, special-purpose computing systems (large). Computer Scientists write the software, design the databases, devise the algorithms, format the communications, and secure the data that are processed by the hardware to make the integrated system function.
Computer engineering focuses on computer hardware and software and develops programs which also includes project management. Whereas, computer science deals with the study on how computers work in terms of mathematical and theorical perspective.
