Am not sure if i got your question well.

 

If you mean that you been given a Role and you can't see a career future for then you will need to look for alternative. this alternative maybe in same company you work in or maybe another one.

 

It's important for you to believe and see that you will have a future in what you doing and that suits your dreams and what you looking for.

Since I am into Recruitment, I came across many interviews and candidates who due to unemployment ready to opt for any job irrespective of their experience and education and they won’t consider their career at that time and want job to fulfill their need. Considering the prevailing economic conditions in developing countries especially, candidates look for job quickly rather than foreseeing the career ladder.

Once they spent some time in that time and observe no future or lack of their interest or understanding then quickly look for another adventure. The condition is opposite for those who have no financial problem. In my case, I did Finance related job and found no interest but I didn’t left the job and work on my academics and switch towards my passion for HR.
