Site engineer hold responsibility to supervise and coordinate their site activity but site engineer hold no authority if there is any senior site engineer who receivednput from few site engineers.Senior site engineer will be the one who has full authority of the site safety,activity and coordination.

Project Engineer is responsible from concept design/engineering till final commissioning & handover of project but site engineer is responsible primarily for site activities looking at site with the collaboration of contractors to mobilize manpower for construction, site inspection, supervision & to monitor work progress & report their manager, who may be sitting in head office or at site. We can say, A project engineer may be handling role of site engineer as well depending upon organization structure but site engineer role is limited & it is for construction & supervision only.
