All wheel drive (4x4) systems are better for safety as well as good driving experience because in slippery condition like rain, snow or muddy surface etc, the traction or road grip offered by this system becomes necessary to keep the vehicle in control and prevent it from slipping away from desired path, the best all wheel drive system in the market are offered by BMW(Xdrive), Audi (Quattro), Mercedes (4Matic) Etc. In AWD the power from the engine is transfered to all four wheels of the vehicle via drivetrain or prop shaft, some new technologies and systems like ABS, ESC, ESP, TC etc, are available in the market for better all around stability of the cars which works along with the AWD system to provide maximum grip on the road.

En ce qui concerne la sécurité, elle dépend davantage des mécanismes de sécurité installés sur la voiture, par exemple ABS, EBD, BAS, contrôle de traction, configuration de l'airbag, etc.

All wheel drive, because it contains both the front wheel and the back wheel drive, majorly Auxiliary is always available

As far as safety is concerned, it is more dependant on the safety mechanisms intalled on the car e.g. ABS, EBD, BAS, Traction control, air bag configuration etc.

On the other hand if drive is considered, AWD is the best for accelerating from a stand still. Other than that, rear wheel drive cars are by far the best in the performance area.

One point to be noted is that in very low traction areas such as ice, snow, the superior control of the rear wheel drive backfires as it over turns the vehicle causing loss of control. In those cases front wheel drive cars are the best. Also the FWD cars are the best as far as fuel economy is concered.

Hope this clarifies your doubts...

Front wheel drive are better in pulling, example in lose gravel, rain or snow. In these cases RWD isn't a good option.

Speaking of RWD, it is more stable because the weight is distributed almost evenly across the length of the car. hence, most sports cars are real weheel drive and only low model economical car for normal driving come in FWD

Finally, AWD vehicles do a good job of balancing handling and driving dynamics during any weather. They add the advantaged of both FWD and RWD. But the main drawback would be the added weight due to more parts, so the service/repair bill might be high and fuel efficiency would be low of AWD compared to FWD and RWD.
