Team Leader should be career oriented she/he should understand and meet the clients requirement. Always keep delivering best to the clients and than you will find good reward. according to my accesment ,you should change your HR Department & Team Leader.
whenever you have people reporting to you, it is mandatory you should have tolerance to pressure.
i think if the team leader is not able to handle pressure, he/she is not fight to be in that position.
but if he has been appointed as team leader, chances are that he has sound domain knowledge, and the team can benefit from that.
hence he can be coached to be a better leader, and also experience brings that abillity in you.
