How could we differentiate between codes and standards. How these both can be useful on the same time or on the same scope.?

How codes and standards are defined in process  and implement on workforce: example: HSE, QUALITY, Construction, industrial, production, oil and gas, techinal, non technical and others.

standards might be industry standards , manufacturer standards , company standards or international standards   and those are common practices in any industry .

codes are also standards but those are imposed by local ,municipal , or governmental authorities for  safety or to facilitate the ease of use by people with disabilities or for any other purpose that the authorities see it needed  .
