The young child imitates anything from the act or words good or bad if the words of good reward, but it is bad must first ignore it and do not violently because it will hold the word and repeat it, but we do not hear him even repeat it tell him that the word is a defect and said Hnzl of him and not talk to him and repeated not We respond to him for an hour and do not play with him and we feel that we are at this time begins to prevent speaking bad words

No bad words shoulf ever be said in front of children as they assimilate and repeat everything they hear. Nontheless, if such should happen, I'd explain to the child that that is a bad word and that hurts people and therefore we should never say it. I'd also apologise to the child for ever saying it in the first place in order for the child to understand that is wrong to say so words.

Having impressionable children around us, as parents, we must make a conscious effort to change what we say or do in their presence.

The best way is to ignore his slang and make him/her busy in another activity. And after one day we should discuss with him/her about the issue

Try to talk to the child why he was using that particular word, try to talk to him in a way that he comes out how and where he learnt the word. Usually words are picked up by kids either from the home environment or from peers. If it is from the home then need to talk to parents about it or if it is from peer from school then take the right action to make him release that it is inappropriate to use.

Oh....It is a good reminder to change. I would say to my son not to use those words with my apologies to him and then commitment to not to use those bad words.

hi Salma,

sorry for answering so late I have just seen your email

you should apologize in front of your child for saying this bad word. For example, oh..i am sorry how could I say such a bad word... and explain for him that a good person should never say bad words and if he did he should apologize.

if you are Muslim explain for him how the prophet Mohamed advice us in his Holy Hadith that Muslim should not say bad words and once he said anything bad he should say Astaghfirullah which means may Allah forgive me for saying such a word. if you are not Muslim look for the same moral in your religion.

welcome any time

In this time and age, children are bound to hear bad words be it from their parents, family members, friends as well as the internet.  We need to sit down with the child explain/educate the child the meaning of the word and how it is considered a bad word and to emphasize to him that it is not a good word at all to be uttered to anyone anytime.  It is always  important to explain and make sure the child understands the implication of using such bad words so that he will not repeat same.
