Ofcourse, one of the first crucial disadvantages you dont want is advertising avoidance.

I.e - Leaving the room(physical avoidance) and changing the channel(mechanical avoidance)

Every advertisement should take its time to be researched in order to deliver the appropriate message. There are alot of important factors to consider such as marketing research factors and who your competition is in that specific market and the list is a long way to go.

Yes alot of money is paid on advertisements but just as a reminder of its power recall the Coca-Cola company's story

We need to understand the premise of advertisement. As business one should know the target audience and the communication that they need to drive. In case extensive research has been at the time of product conceptualisation, then it will serve as guiding light for the campaign. However, you still need to build on this understanding to create a effective customer communication. Hence, you require customer research for the same. In this case i am assuming that, we are talking about major campaigns and not regular communication or special promotion campaign. In that case if you have enough data to reach a conclusion based on secondary data, in that case primary research is not required.

of course it requires how can you promote your product if you don't give a time to research about it. advertisment is promoting your product, in order for you to promote your product you should know what are the needs of people around that place, things to be research you should know if you have a strong competitors in that place? what are thier prices of products? quality? etc. then you are ready to make your advertisement.

In my opinion research is always needed. The need for it can be explained as follows:

1. Research becomes absolutely essential for companies that are new or still growing. They need to know the pulse of the market they are targeting. They need to have hardcore facts before they enter or introduce a product.

2. For companies or brands who are already successful, research is not necessary always. However, they can run few checks in order to revise the service based on the latest trend.

Thanks for your kind invitation. Each ad requires that a search be conducted because of its privacy and its specific requirements that must be met in order for the announcement to be more accurate and correct when it is made in its final form before being displayed.

‏The advertisement may require several researches to discover how advertising can reach the desired idea and the purpose of achieving the desired objectives of the product or sample shown so that the quality of the advertisement and how to display it and what drew attention to this announcement and what percentage of response to reach a satisfactory and successful result 100%

Yes Because in 21 st century it is compulsory.

Brands have usp's, once they decide the communication route the entire communication will be designed around it until a period of time. Hence every-time you design you might not need extensive but timely secondary research can me be done as the environment now being more of digital i.e is more dynamic  brands need regular health check-up.

Hi Lina, yes you need research on every and each ad you are promoting, of course it depends on the product / service you are promoting and your desired reach within your target audience. You should do the research ( can be a small or huge research ) to know the demographics and most importantly the psychographics of your audience so you can show them the right message and get the desired response ( if you show them irrelevant messages to what they think and feel and it doesnt hit the problem they face that your product will solve ) then you will not get conversions and your advertising will fail
