JSA only considers three things:

1.       The specific job steps needed to complete the job,

2.       The hazard or hazards involved with each step, and

3.       The safety measures used to avoid the hazard in each step.

A risk assessment is not about creating huge amounts of paperwork, but rather about identifying sensible measures to control the risks in your workplace. You are probably already taking steps to protect your employees, but your risk assessment will help you decide whether you have covered all you need to reduce/ protect an accident free working atmosphere.

Steps involved in RA

·         Identify the hazards

·         Decide who might be harmed and how

·         Evaluate the risks and decide on precautions

·         Record your significant findings

·         Review your assessment and update if necessary

Based on specification, requirements, special or legal and regulatory requirements and resource wise (like: Money, Man, Machine, Method, etc.,)
