How can a Trainer manage his training delivery on time with all deviations and debates happening during the session?

It starts by the notion of taking control

By taking the lead and being proactive

By setting ground rules at the early beginning with strong emphasis on keeping order

By taking control of discussions and be courageous enough to stop it when out of control or out of topic

By preventing personal debates and arguing

By sticking to schedule and time management through breaks

By avoiding the temptation of personal victory in arguments

By resisting the temptation of expanding of the topics favoured by the trainer

By defering questions to the end if can not be properly managed

By preparation, preparation, preparation then evaluation to avoid repeating mistakes

Hello, First of all the trainer should be well prepared with all the accredited sources of information and body of knowledge of the content with a goal of adding value to the audience. Second thing he have to have a list of the audiences including their genders, ages groups, their experience, and their educational background. This is very important to build his content based on a real need and also to do his part of exercise in the return of value out of this training, beside doing the above two steps reduce to a great extent the debate. Third thing for the audiences behavior its all the same repeated in each class, and to avoid this the trainer has to be assertive from the early beginning in a polite professional way setting the rules of the class, discussions, arguments, and taking notes of the audiences to return back to them after the class or even reply back their side notes by email.

By adding extra time to the calculations from the beginning. I myself always added 5 -6% of the actual time to avoid any type of delay.

Normally the sessions of the Trainees are always welcomed at the end of period/session. Trainer must be approaching proactively to reduce the affect.
