In your opinion, if a digital marketer decides to increase trafic to an commerce site, sales will automatically be increased?

More trafic to an e-commerce site does or does not equal more sales? It is all about objectives and fortunately digital marketing helps marketers breaking it down to achieve stated objectives while monitoring the results and making changes accordingly.

There are many variables to consider in increasing sales. Promoting the products digitally is just among the things we need to factor in along with the timing, ensuring the ads reach the target market and that while it should initially capture the audience, it should be able to sustain their interest until they place their orders.

The increase in sales might happen considering that you should be able to convert 1% of the incoming traffic into a checkout action. But driving these amounts of traffic, who immediately leave your site & end up increasing the bounce rate does 2 things:

1. Google decides that page relevancy is low & this hurts your seo efforts.

2. Ad platforms starts charging you higher based on the user behavior, essentially they deem that your website is not interesting enough.

yes definitely sales will increase but only if traffic is your target audience otherwise it will not work in the boost up of sales

An increase in footfall doesn't automatically increase sales. However, if the overall proposition stand up - the answer should be yes!

Digital marketing is one of the most popular ways for businesses to try to increase sales. In fact, spending on digital marketing is projected to increase by anywhere from 12-15 percent.

What’s surprising about this number is that according to recent research, many businesses have a hard time measuring the results of their digital marketing campaigns. A third of marketers don’t know which digital marketing efforts have the best revenue impact, and some businesses don’t even track metrics that give this information.

To make sure you are spending your digital marketing budget in a way that will help you increase sales, here are the top digital marketing KPIs you should be tracking, and information on how they help inform your strategy.

Any person can get traffic to your website, more traffic does not always equal more conversion or sales but when done right it can change everything. I have met many people in my career who believed they were "experts" because they could drive traffic to someone's website. The question is - How relevant is the traffic? Is it people who are online looking for products/services that companies like you offer? or is it just normal folks who like to window shop every now and then for just about everything? There are many factors to conversions/sales and a lot also depends on how well your ecommerce site is setup. If you are a monopolist in a market you might get away with a lot of things but if you are in a market where your competitor has a team assigned to promote his/her business then you need to fight back and this is what succesful online ecommerce stores do. I have seen cases where e-stores got relevant traffic but due to many other factors failed to convert them into sales. An expert will determine the root cause of lack of sales and will give you the run down on the factors due to which that is happening.
