these are two different operating systems in business management
SAP also link with oracle server but SAP is more positive for big firms like Manufacturere, oil and gas companies.
There is a wealth of difference between both the softwares, SAP has some positive points, and similarly Oracle has its positives. Overall, For Small to mid-tier companies, Oracle rules, in larger organizations as well, still Oracle is leader, and SAP is fast-catching up. In selected areas like Oil & Gas industry - SAP is having some weightage more than Oracle.
So it all depends on a host of factors, starting from migrating old database/softwares to cost of implementation to new ERP and maturity and user learning curve on the ERP.
