What is difference b/w Heat Exchanger & Cooling Tower?

Heat Exchangers are used to transfer heat from one fluid to another by direct or indirect contact of te fluids.

Cooling tower is a type of heat exchanger where two fluids come in direct contact with each other.

Cooling tower is one type of heat exchanger. Cooling tower is direct contact type heat exchanger. It uses evaporative type cooling method. Other type of heat exchangers are recuperative type and regenerative type.

Heat exchanger is only heat transfer driven meanwhile evaporative cooling tower is simultan mass & heat transfer driven.

The result is that outlet cold fluid temperature is never exceed inlet hot fluid temperature, but in cooling tower is that outlet cooling water temperature can be below dry bulb inlet air temperature but not below its wet bulb

we can only heat eject in cooling tower but in heat exchanger we can cool as well as heat the media.

Heat exchangers are used to transfer or exchange heat b/w two fluids, many types of heat exchangers are used in Industries like Shell and Tube, Plate and Frame, extend surface. Cooling tower and boilers are also the type of Heat Exchanger.

Cooling towers works on evaporation of water, but heat exchanger works on the conduction and convection both.

For heat exchanger we need an external equipment to change the temperature of the water for cooling tower water is being cooler by fan and sprinkler. There is a lot of differences, i can't answer all of it.

well, Big diffrence is,it has differ in apprearance its some kind of shell & tube  and fin & tube types of heat exchagers,whereas cooling towers are non of this types and kinds of,

Condenser is a heat exchanger used to condense(Cool) the working fluid/refrigerant after its been heated up (mosty because of compression), So it was the duty of the condenserto cool down the working fluid after its been undergone compression.
