What is a heat exchanger?

A heat exchanger is a device that circulates a liquid or gas through tubing inside it. Depending on whether your HVA unit is set to heating of cooling, the liquid or gas will be warmer or cooler than the ambient temperature. As air blows over the tubes of the heat exchanger, it absorbs the heat or cold from the tubes and changes the temperature on the home. Heat exchanger are found in refrigerators, water boilers and a wide range of appliances. Read below where Experts have given answers to heat exchanger questions.

heat exchanger is a device used to transfer heat between one or more fluids. The fluids may be separated by a solid wall to prevent mixing or they may be in direct contact. They are widely used in space heatingrefrigerationair conditioningpower stationschemical plantspetrochemical plantspetroleum refineriesnatural-gas processing, and sewage treatment. The classic example of a heat exchanger is found in an internal combustion engine in which a circulating fluid known as engine coolant flows through radiator coils andair flows past the coils, which cools the coolant and heats the incoming air.

heat exchanger is an equipment in that transfer of heat takes place from one substance to another by conduction ,convaction and radiation.

A heat exchanger is a device to transfer heat between two fluids having diffrent temperature

Depending on the purpose of usage heat exchanger can be classified into diffrent types like parallal flow&cross flow, shell&tube heat exchanger etc...

there are many engineering application we use heat exchangers

examples are:-

condensor and evoperator coils of vapour compression refrigration system

cooling coil of summer&winter air conditioning system

car radiator etc...

A heat exchanger is a device used for transferring heat. It finds it's application in energy conservation, either heating up or cooling down a process fluid, changing the phase of process fluid like in condensation of any fluid and refrigeration processes.

The size of exchanger depends upon the duty requirement. The type of exchanger depends upon the temperature range, allowable pressure drop and nature of fluids.

Common examples of application of heat exchangers are vapor compression and absorption chillers, condensers and reboilers in distillation process and air conditioners.
