Below mentioned advantages can be point out.

# Easy to communicate.

# Helps in brainstorming and getting new ideas.

# Easy to manage and control the team.

# Back-up and support can be easily provided.

# Training , coaching , motivating can be done in very quick and short notice.

# Systems , rules and regulations and other disciplines can be easily implemented.

# It helps in day to day jellying of team and increases productivity.

As I said above co-located team benefits are only in case of limited industries and departments.

There is no problem with dispersed team as long as they have scheduled time to collaborate and everyone is cooperative.  But of course, co-located teams are more effective since you can easily address issues and discuss effectively.

Firstly it purely depends on the ATTITUDE. When you meet Co-Located Project team, it has some impact on both positive and negative ways.

If the Attitude is positive then you will find very good positive results. If the Attitude is negative then you will face some Ego clash, Unhealthy Comparisons, etc.

Problems are same but Attitude makes the difference.
