Consider you don't know your customer and open a business? What would be your chance of survival?. Google Analytics will tell any business whether small or newly startup, metrics like

a. Where is your traffic coming from?

b. Which channels are working for you? (Search, organic social media)

c. What your customers are doing on your site, how much time they are spending?

d. Is your traffic local or outside, which country city? Male or female?

e. If you have call to action (CTA) or e-commerce site, is the customer signing your newsletter or buying from your side? Which stage, cart abandonment etc.

You can compare different metrics for your marketing and keyword strategies. Possibilities are endless.
