What is the basic role of data analyst?

The data analyst has an essential role to collect and tabulate various data and information for the different activities for the company or organization and show  the relations between the data base and new data collection. All these processes are achieved through the Master Program in the Computer Office to use these information and data and their development within a certain period of time to evaluate the situation and reach the results may be very useful to the Planners, Managements, Businessmen & economists.

Most of the data analysis will assist to draw new orientations of the Companies, Economic Group and Governmental Organizations and building  new strategies as per the data base updated arranged and given from the data analyst.

Responsibilities

• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
• Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Requirements

 

• Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
• Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
• BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics

Data Analyst collate and tabulate the relevant set of data  in computer and find how these data and interrelated and  how these data changes over a period of time.

The data analyst find the correlation between the data and presents the data in useful format. Based on data analysis, researcher, economist and  business executive formulates the strategy for Business, economy and national development plan

·  If you want to apply a job as a data analyst in big companies, they will expect a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in quantitative data analysis.

·  Must have superior concentration as committing a small mistake can lead to bigger problems.

·  Good communication skills both oral and written are required for this job.

·  Individual must have the willingness to work well with a team.
