There is no a big difference between them

But the good manager touches the borders of leadership when he-she get some of leaders skills and qualities , while the good leader, he-she is already in this field of leadership but he-she wants to develop and grow their skills and qualities to next level.

A good leader can get anything done with his team whereas a manager can hardly get a work done in office hours only.

I transfer the answer:

  • Managers Are Reactive, Leaders Are Proactive.
  •  Managers Have Employees, Leaders Have Followers.
  •  Managers Manage Groups, Leaders Create Teams.
  •  Managers Shift Responsibility, Leaders Take Responsibility.
  •  Leaders Will Stand and Be Counted, a manager will keep their mouth shut.

A good manager can do all the tasks of the role adequately and some of them well.  Such a person would have an acceptable level of leadership skills.

A good leader in a management position may be good at leadership, and that may be enough to make them a good manager overall.  However, they may have deficiencies in their skill set: for example, they may have weak technical skills in the work of the team members, or require unusually high levels of support from the finance department in order to handle the financial aspects of their role.

If you are a good manager and also a good leader then you are probably an excellent manager overall.

Good manager get things done by any means but Good leader leads and teaches how  it's done and inspires fro do more .
