The proxy ARP is that when a host want to reach another host in the same subnet and there is a router between them, the source sends arp request on broadcast address FFFF:FFFF:FFFF to know the mac the address of the destination before sending the traffic to that destination,So the ARP request will be received by the router but not received by the destination, because the router doesn't allow broadcast so the router will reply with its mac address and the source will send the traffic to the destination with the mac address of the router.
