Yes. This is really important for the company im currently working with.

It relies on the marketing and sales team but this would be a big impact for the sales department. Since competitors is everywhere both team should have sales targets to sustain the production of the company and the organization who is working on it. For this to work, the team should at least aim higher than the targeted plan -it would be better. 

And to achieve this is by doing reviews and analysis for the past sales and then create a unique strategy to hold your targeted customers. Doing such promotions would also attract and gives interest for new customers.

First step is to calculate annual target based on annual development plan (the percentage of growth looking for).Then divide annual target into quartely and monthly target. fix weekly target too, if required.

To achieve the target,we need to generate leads, do follow up, convert them into sales.ie. leads ->prospects->order->product delivery ie.sales. Marketing campaigns / promotions are required to generate enquiries as well as to beat the competition
