What are the exclusion criteria of cross linking for keratoconus ?

1- Very thin cornea.

2- Corneal  scar

3- Active cornea disease.

4- .Chronic autoimmune disease such as rheumatoid  arthritis

5- Pregnancy

Advanced (severe) cases are not fit for CXL:

Corneal thinning (less than 400 micron)

Very High K reading

Corneal diseases (chronic ulcers, cicatrization)

Severe dry eyes

Corneal scar is an exclsion criteria of cross linking for keratoconus

The exclusion criteria of cross linking for keratoconus :

1- Corneal thickness less than 400 microns

2- Active autoimmune disease or eye inflamation

3- Keratometry more than 55D

4- Pregnancy

5- Corneal scar

1- Corneal thickness less than 370

2- BCVA worse than 20/50

3- Keratometry more than 60d

4- Vogt's stria

5- Corneal scar

Less then 300 Microns, and medium to big scars on cornea

1) Thinnest point pachimetry less than 400 microns

2) Keratoconus apex more than 60 Dpt

3) Corneal scare

4) Severe dry eye Syndrom

a patient with a corneal scar  is not a good candidate for CXL

advance keratoconus , corneal opacity , herpes keratitis
