Lessons are generally step wise (phase) activities to progress or to achieve a certain goal or a qualification such as to obtain driving or a flying licence to attend minimum of x numbers of lessons required.

 

Lecture is a verbal delivery or explanation on a specific subject in a classroom environment, where sometimes may involve activity.
