in my former job, I saw my boss as the manager i want to become, He has three key skills "beside being good man".

1- charismatic: some people may think charisma is irrelative with business world, but for me, it's the key to success in doing business of anykind.

2- precise

3- Prediction: He has the ability to read the present to see what is going to happen next, i can say 90% of hiss predicions happened the way he saw it coming.

The most essential skill that makes an exemplary employee is being conscientious. There is no company that aims for its customers to be unhappy, otherwise it will not succeed. It is with this that one should bear in mind the reason he/she wanted to be a part of that organization; to rise with the company. Therefore, whatever activity an employee is doing, he must do it as if his boss' eyes are watching him, even if his boss is really not around.

Being conscientious also can be demonstrated by being effective and efficient around or without clients. An individual employee is the extension or face of the company; it does not matter what post one holds. "Promise only what you can deliver; deliver more than what you can promise."

You need to develop and improve your managerial skills on an ongoing basis as your career develops and as you meet new managerial challenges.

Whether you manage a department or a project team, it's important to know how to get the work done right. When you're asked to achieve something with the help of others, it's complex – and you spend much of your time managing relationships instead of doing the actual work. So, you must develop not only your technical skills, but your management skills as well.

Delegating, motivating, communicating, and understanding team dynamics are some of the key skills needed. With those skills, along with patience and a strong sense of balance, you can become a very effective manager.
