One has to understand that HR fuction directly impacts the bottom line of any business. Gone are the days when HR was just a transactional function. HR has evolved to be a more strategic function and is a part of business decisions. To make yourself a competant HR you have to be well qualified, but mere qualifications does not help you become HR leader. You have to think like business to become a HR leader. Align yourself to business and be a part of the industry than being confined to your desk. Keep a close eye on Industry trends and speculate changes, work with the Business and startegise HR process to support business growth. Hope this is of help.
