They are inspiring words developed by leaders to clearly and concisely convey the purpose, direction and driving forces of their organization. Focuses on critical organization issues and milestones. Describe activities to be accomplished to achieve goals. Identify dates when specific results are to be accomplished. Measurable in terms of whether or not they are achieved. They may be changed when necessary for progress towards goals.

I do not think there is any organization without a purpose, moreover organizations are established for achieving goals with vision. Orgaizational goals may be for profit, social service, employment opprtunities or any other goals.
To merely exist one does not need all of the above i would say
Any company should have a clear mission statement to successfully continue ... It is very important to know what you should do and how ... It is kind of successful planning and strategy !
