Facilities soft services are related to cleaning, pest control, security, landscaping, waste management, security, mail room operation, reception services, and health & safety. While hard services are mechanical (elevator, water pumping) and electrical services (electric connection and distribution) and sanitary services of the building.

 Soft Services Manager must have the ethics as follows:The Soft Services Manager need to be highly customer focused, shall maintain good relationships with internal customers as well as subcontractors and directly employed staff. Services Manager must possess commercial awareness to optimize budget, service improvement and cost reduction.
