The number of attendees.

The feedback of the participants received via e-survey (after the event) or on-site survey (if needed).

The format of the survey depends on the specifics of the event.

On-site survey can be performed in pop-up IT tool stations on leaving the event site to make it quick and eficient.

Well a few things can be used to measure the success of the event:

1. How much attendance? Some times this does not matter.

2. How successfully the budget was managed?

3. Did the event meet the goals, objectives and requirements?

4. Get a feedback from the person who got the event organised.

I develop a post event simple survey and sent it out to all attendees no more than 3 days after the event.

For corporate events, I find staying within (or under) budget as well as the results received back from attendees on quality of program, knowledge imparted/received as the two main success drivers.  However, depending on your point of view, it could also be measured by attendance numbers, sales derived, media attention, etc.

There are few ways may vary depending on the type of the event,

however, they do share in common ways such as:

Attendee satisfaction, Social Media mentions, Feedback from professionals in the industry, Customer feedback, and sales from the event would be a realistic way to measure the event
