Will your customers refer other people to your company?

 

 

Why you need to know: Marketing is expensive, and getting referrals from existing customers is cheap alternative. Where to find this answer: Ask your customers. If you get a new customer from an existing one, keep track it so that you can give those recurring customers special offers—and an incentive to refer more customers.

The most important strategy nowadays, in Marketing or Sales, it´s making the customers talk about our brand and our products without being pushed for it. 

 

Social media strategy has an important role for that.

Word of mouth is best advertising as they say, only when your product/service is good. Otherwise it can pull your potential customers away.

According to the study which I have done in my previous company, customers would only change the leader brand when their friend would suggest it/other brand. And it was happening.

I am not sure if all customers will refer others, but I know what to do in order to make sure they will refer others:

1. Build stronger customer relationships

2. Use customer satisfaction surveys to identify potential advocates

3. Every communication with a customer is a referral opportunity

4. Offer incentives (no cash money)

5. ‘WOW’ your customers by focusing on the experience

6. Don’t be scared to just ask for referrals

If the product serves the intended purpose, quality is good and after sales service is satisfactory, customers will refer other people to your company. That is why it is important to check who has referred the new customers to your company  and   to give courtesy call to the referrer.
