What is the difference between Construction Manager and Construction Superintendent?

A Construction Supervisor's role is limited to supervising the particular work alloted to him. He needs to co-ordinate  on a day to day basis and help workers progress in thier work keeping up the short term schedules. One particular system of work will have a number of supervisors  reporting to the Construction manager.

A Construction Manager is responsible forthe overall Schedule of the task,keeping to Schedule ,budgets,co-ordination with Consultant ,Customer  both internal and External .Generally Multi tasking.

Construction manager manages the complete activities (multi-discipline) of the project,  a super intendant is usually focused on a specific part of the project and usually single discipline

The construction superintendent's job is to run the day-to-day operations on the construction site and control the short-term schedule. The role of the superintendent also includes important quality control and subcontractor coordination responsibilities

They also make sure jobs are completed on time and on budget with the right amount of tools, equipment, and materials. Many managers also are responsible for obtaining necessary permits and licenses. They are often responsible for multiple projects at a time

Construction manager has more powers and authority during the project phase for ensuring that projects are delivered on time .they also decide on the kind of work force to be appointed on the site.

On the other hand a superintendent  will use these allocated resources to carry on the daily work independently .
