TOP-TO-BOTTOM AND LEFT-TO RIGHT

A flowchart should have a consistent flow direction. It should be top- to- bottom and left-to-right. Try to avoid mixing top-to-bottom and left -to-right flows in the same chart. Multiple column and S-shaped flowcharts are fine too as long as the flowchart is consistent.
