What are the challenges faced today while marketing Educational programs in the GCC?

I have been working with universities and training providers across the region in marketing their programs and courses to our database and need to understand the situation of the education industry.

I think that the biggest issue is the saturation in the market in terms of educational options both locally and abroad and the related marketing messages (offline and online) that potential students receive on a regular basis.
I think education marketing needs to move away from direct sales and promotion style marketing to more of a community building style.
i.e.
encouraging your community of potential students to engage more with the education programme/institution/brand through different avenues.
This could be through a combination of social media, forums, blogs, physical events and then direct marketing to promote this.
