Contractual

Where matter is covered with in term's of contract but contractor and client representative can not reach agreement.

Extra contractual

Claim of right which would be enforceable at law but is not covered with in contract.

Ex Gratia

Claim having no legal foundation but which warrants consideration of ground of hardships or perhaps on moral around. Exgratia payments were made on many contracts some years ago when British industry was working3 day week such payments are not an assumption of liability by employer.
