I will point out a few DO`s and few DON`T DO`s.So, the following principles are to be remembered:

  • Be aware about how is your behavior interpreted and received
  • Ask what does success looks like in a different culture
  • Establish a working way that is comfortable for all involved

Now, principles that you should remember as well, but avoid doing them, are the following:

  • Don`t try to fully adapt to culture that is not your own
  • Don`t try to highlight differences; try to deal with them without alarming
  • Don`t stereotype people that you work with, instead develop a prototype that you can adjust based on experience

To managing cross cultural differences you have to respect the culture of others. There may be things which will look illogical to you but for them it is important beyond any logic. You can ask questions from them for your own knowledge but in a respected way. The easiest way is to keep everything professional. Do not try to impose or generalize your opinion on others.

Yes - the world shrunk lately (…). Multicultural working environment becomes something rather expected than surprising. That is great!

Dealing with the differences isn’t something abnormal! People are different. Even those, who grew up in the same environment.

Differences are interesting, fun and always good for development!

So.. keep calm and do not panic, because it is a wonderful value – enjoy and learn from it!

The tolerance and equality are essential - the same on personal and professional level. Kindness applies to all – respect it and expect it!

Feel like an Ambassador - show the best of You and Your Country!
