Voltage is the potential difference between the source & any point in the circuit. Voltage drop means, amount of voltage by which voltage across load resistor is less then the source voltage.

Rl - Resistance of wire need to connect to resistorRL - Load Resistancei - Current in the circuitVin - Voltage of sourceVin = V(wire)+V(load)V(wire)  = I*Rl               -voltage drop V(Load) = I*RL             -voltage across loadthere is voltage drop in wire connected to the positive terminal of the source to load resistor.Voltage across the resistor = Potential difference between the two terminal of the resistor, which here is V(load). For AC circuit ,V(wire)= I*ZZ - Electrical Independence Z is the combination of resistance ,inductance, capacitanceVoltage drop is more AC as compare to DC

Voltage Loss test is testing for a voltage “loss” across one or more connections or components.  This test is performed on “one” side of the circuit at a time – meaning to test the Positive side of the circuit, and / or then test the negative side of the circuit. A Voltage Drop test is to test for a voltage “drop” across one or more connections and components.  This test is performed across both sides of the circuit and requires a component – meaning to test from the positive side of the circuit to the negative side of the circuit.  This requires some sort of resistance through a load component like a light bulb or resistor, etc…

Voltage drop is a transient occurrence along along conductors or saged overhead conductors while voltage loss is an occurance of eddy current losses in in static instruments like transformers and motors as heart energy
