Psychometric test or psychological test is important tools to assess the applicant's personalities, it determine the level of IQ and other psychological factors on personality. Thats why it is so important to HR in screening the applicants.

In addition to the above psychometric tests are a filtering mechanism or a bottleneck mechanism designed to screen and select the best candidate based on their strengths and weaknesses regardless of their educational backgrounds.

 

The types include but are not limited to;

  • Numerical tests - to test basic arithmetic
  • Logical Reasoning tests - to test how to use basic information to arrive at an answer.
  • Verbal Reasoning tests - for evaluation of information, arguments and statements.
  • Non Verbal Reasoning tests - for testing diagrammatic and or spot patterns.

 

Why use them;

  1. To screen a wide group of applicants
  2. To assess a person's culture fit and role sync.
  3. To tally against a sample of successful mangers and graduate candidates.
  4. To select the best talent among all.
  5. To measure intelligence, critical reasoning, motivation and personality profile
