general IQ tests are usually an unreliable method of measuring intelligence as they can be culturally biased, and/or only measure certain aspects to intelligence.
if you want an IQ test to be reliable, you would have to measure the different aspects of intelligence seperately (mathematical intelligence, spacial intelligence, social intelligence, etc) and the questions have to be as unbiased as possible (i.e.
"washington is to adams as first is to _____" would be an example of a culturally biased question, seeing as if this was given to an immigrant, there is a lack of knowledge in American history)

You may measure a skill in a IQ test a, way of getting information then using an action for it.
Like tasks or the ability to do something.
It does not measure he ability to have a certain knowledge and obtain this knowledge with effort.
A IQ test is exercise for your brain, or a mental test for certain tasks.
No one test can measure intelligence so bluntly, because it cannot be defined in a simple way.
People can be brilliant many different ways, they cannot all be herded in to a testing area like cattle and given the same test to measure how smart they are.
It helps paint some perspective, but it cannot define how adept their brains are.

I think they might be ok for giving people ideas about what they might be good at too, but I don't think that someone should limit themselves to what the results said..not if they had a passion to do it.
I think that it would be very hard to take a standardized test and give it to a diverse group of people and be able to judge who was "the smartest." I don't think it would be as accurate as they would like to think.
Thanks for responding!

IQ test is ok if we are taking in fresher’s just out of college for the entry level. But if we want to promote a tenured employee to a higher managerial job role or when we are recruiting for mid level or higher EQ(emotional quotient) and SQ spiritual quotient are also important. We need to understand how the manager will deal emotionally with subordinates, coworkers, his supervisor and customer. Also we need to know how honest (SQ) he is to the company , to his coworkers and subordinates.
