Why set capacitor bank with induction load?

2 reasons:

Switching Inductive loads can creates surges. A very large capacitor bank could absorbe those surges.

 

When we're dealing with mains voltage then when the induction is equal to the capacitance (resonance) then the COS f is becoming equal to1 which would lead to a lower electricity bill.
