Management Information System (MIS) is the study of organization and technology and the relation between the two. It also study how to evaluate, design, implement and manage systems to generate information that can improve efficiency and effectiveness of decision making.

Many business schools/universities have MIS as major that you can study and get award degree (undergraduate, mater and doc). You can contact these within your area and I'm sure you can get helpful information.

I have mentioned below links that I hope it can help you:

MIS means Management Information System.  It is like a good antena to TV set.  In any managerial hierarchy, there will be strategic decisions to be taken by top management and operational decisions taken by the middle management.  The simple question is how can they take decisions about a particular problem or situation?  They need information and analysis about the problems and situations, which is the tool in their hand to come to a conclusion what type of decision to be taken.  It is the responsibility of the MIS manager to provide periodically different type of report to top management and advice about the situation explaining the pros and cons of each decision highlighting the best out of the options.  It may be a finance report, Budget comparison report, market feasibility study, financial feasibility study, capital budgeting analysis, make or buy decision etc.  The MIS manager has to analysis each and every cost, benefit and expected returns related to the situation or future opportunity and provide a conclusion supported with all assumptions and calculations.  For that he has apply different techniques to take a rational conclusion like average, weighted average, correlation, standard deviation  etc of the available data whether it is cost or revenue and go to a step by step iteration to arrive at a best course of action.

You should have to keep an analytical mind and technical knowledge of each financial and costing principle which you have to convert to the situation.  Experience make you expert and always believe that a text can provide you information and you have to practice to transfer the information to knowledge in your hand.

I have been looking for a satisfying answer of this question for a long time now. The result I had based on my experience is that MIS is only a key to open other paths for you. I was graduated in2007 and until getting lucky in2012 I was not able to get even a job interview away from banks.

After getting your degree you have to choose what kind of careers do you want to have. the possibilities are countless, but the most important thing is to make your decision and stick with it. Of course changing it is possible but it will mean loosing a big portion of what you have already accomplished. Your choice can be anything in the following fields. HR, IT, Accounting or Projects. any non IT job will have IT flavor.

Once you decided what career path do you want to take, start searching for jobs in the location where do you intend to work. take a look on the demand for this job and what qualification is needed for it, put your zero experience in consideration.

Then search for education possibilities for this job, online training is a huge resource, but don't forget to search for reviews for any course you choose before actually taking it, to make sure that your choice is good.

At last do your work in preparing your CV according to international standards, enhancing your English and sending job applications to as many companies as you can. After that you can only pray for Allah to help you with the best possible job like many others.

If you choose IT I would recommend aiming to be an Oracle Consultant as it's highly demanded with good income, you can work as financial, HR, Projects or Supply chain consultant you may find courses for with compusoft academy find their page on Facebook ( ( Oracle & SAP ) ERP - Compusoft Academy) then contact them they are very affordable and have great expertise specially in Financial.

Best wishes and good luck.
