If the underlying indication for mechanical ventilation has resolved or improved then we have to make daily screening for respiratory function,if the patient is ready for weaning we give a spontaneous breathing trail by T-Tube or PSV7cmH2O for30 mins and if no signs of poor tolerance appear we Extubate the patient and if signs of poor tolerance appear we do Gradual withdrawal.and if the pateint is not ready for weaning we do Mechanical ventilation and daily screening
