Team leader is also a human being and should accept if he/she's wrong, admit that and admit if someone's right and/or find possible solutions

Be a mentor to your team members. “Hitler approach” doesn’t work in the modern scenario. The team members should be able to gain from the team leader’s talent and mentorship. He must stand by his team always. When a team performs well, the credit goes to the team leader, similarly at times when the team fails to perform as per the expectations of others, don’t try to play safe. A leader should own his mistakes as well as his team member’s. Don’t play blame games or point fingers at others. No body will respect you this way.

Hi Sashikanta,

Good afternoon. In my opinion, it is basically everyone's' skill, how they tackle this situation. I feel if you've noticed about your committed mistake then you should say, "I am sorry, I committed mistake and don't forget to tell them how will I rectify it." and If that was notified by your subordinate then say, "Thank you for notifying the mistake and ask his/her suggestions about how to rectify it." It will create bounding among your team and they will realized that you're transparent and lenient.

Well best way is to ask your team members what went wrong and how did it went wrong, it give an idea whom used his risk management skill but yet it won't be fair to label anyone who does not know the whole picture. Place a similar scenario in front of the members to ask their opinion on the matter this could turn into a discussion at some point, but be brief not all details needs to be placed on table.

Highlight from the scenario what went wrong by you and how it could have been avoid and managed, most important is to highlight what information you were not aware of that caused such error in first place as it will become a lesson and experience for your team members to avoid such instances in future.

ACCEPT THE FACT BUT DON'T REGRET if mistaken were not made this world would be a perfect place and remember that nothing in perfect here.
