i think its MAC, because its secure, and data scientist need security to its data.

Almost certainly a Mac. I've argued before that the best language for most data scientists is Python (Is Python the most important programming language to learn for aspiring data scientists & data miners?) and Macs (or any Unix system) make Python tremendously easier, due to better package management. Using Python on a Unix system generally means you'll have access to the latest libraries, while using it on Windows means you'll often have to wait for libraries to be compiled as binaries.

Thank you for the invitation

It doesn't actually matter. What matters most is knowing the tools to use as well as having hacking skills (not in cracking bit in installing software & working with the command line) as well as knowing how to use those tools.

I have to tell you that a PC vs a MAC is not important. I personally use a PC but with Ubuntu/Linux. This is the path I suggest you take. MACS are nice but I don't use them because they limit the user (just like Windows is too).

As for security, no system is fully secure. What I suggest is installing a Linux distro (go with Ubuntu if you're new) and during installation tell it to encrypt your HDD. If you need help with this I'd be glad to support you.

Some tools used in Data Science & Analytics: R/Python, Rstudio/Ipython, Git, Github, Terminal

As for the language: R & Python are competing indirectly on which is best. I use R and plan to learn Python in the future. The main difference is that R is not a general programming language like Python, rather its a statistical one. Both have a huge user base, documentation & user base.

Python comes installed by default on most (probably all) Linux systems. R is very easy to install (check my repo here).

Hi,

If you are looking for Data Analysis and want to work long time on PC or LapTop , Tough Book is not a bad choice at all. You have6 hrs of Battery timing with cheap price and solid Laptop

CF31 Series with Panasonic is best for it.

MAC is better for security purpose but you know when you are working on Data Analysis you do not afford any disruption or hurdle in case of power or electric issue. Its long time battery is good enough for your continuous thinking and  target job completion.

Any way , its my opinion and of course being a human being its not final at all. But i am just sharing my experience in such working conditions.

Thank you all and Respect you all

Any laptop with good configuration such as16/32 gb ram especially i7 would be sufficient enough.

Which we can get in other brands like (lenovo/dell) for almost half or less of the price compared to MAC.

As far as security is concerned any linux distribution like redhat/oracle/centos/ubuntu which are freely available and has equal security features as that of MAC OSX.

for me any brand, i am using Samsung notebook and it has4.5 hours battery timing while i am working.  Also  laptop with good configuration should do much batter.

Moreover, i believe the tools for data analysis and security which is being used are more important rather machine which we uses
